SOTW: Football Fever and Advisory Boards

Cheerio, everyone! Welcome back to SOTW – the 17th edition, packed with World Cup fever, meetings, copywriting and design work.

The week started with some copy, image, and HTML changes to Ironside Sports’ new website – we’re ever so close to launch, but still need to make a few amendments and get the OK from OPRO. Check back next week!

As always, for me, there was also a bit of PR and newsletter writing to kickstart the week, interviews, copywriting, editing and proofing before distribution to customer and media databases.

Advisory Board
In other news, we joined an Advisory Board this week after having a quick meeting with NM Nordic, Scandinavian/Northern European agents for PUKY bikes, who are looking to streamline and grow the company, and could use a little help on the branding and storytelling side of things. We look forward to working in close cooperation with Nikolaj (PUKY) and the other board members.

More World Cup football
Thursday was all about football – we set up a new flat screen display in the conference room, closed the office at 2 PM give or take, picked up some pizza and beer, and sat down to support our boys in Red & White...

We were pretty optimistic about picking up 3 points, but for some reason the Aussies had us figured out; after Christian Eriksen’s screamer in the opening 15, the Video Assisted Referee (VAR) struck, giving Australia a penalty from a ridiculous handball. Of course Mile Jedinak scored – he hasn’t missed a penalty in 4 years (12 of 12). IMO Denmark should be happy with the 1-1 split, but you can’t help but be a little upset at VAR after a game like that...

Golf stuff
On Friday, we did a little email marketing work for a long time friend and client – Jørgen Korfitsen, quite possibly the longest-standing golf professionals in all of Europe. Once again, Jørgen is off to Portugal with his loyal following and we’re putting together the email invitations and even pitching in with some travel planning/booking plane tickets.

Across the room Rasmus put the finishing touches on a brand identity proposal, colour schemes and all, with a couple of tagline options, while Morten fiddled with an expo layout – trying to fit everything in, machines and inventory, while keeping the booth light and welcoming.

That’s all for this week. I hope you have a nice weekend with family and friends – I for one am looking forward to a couple of days off with my girls! Take care, everyone!
